On Saturday, January 18, 2025, the Akron Inner City Soccer Club reached another milestone with its first-ever indoor foot skills training session at The Elder Johnson Family Life Center at The House of the Lord in Akron, Ohio. This event marked a significant step in our commitment to providing young athletes with year-round training opportunities, regardless of weather conditions.
The session was a dynamic and engaging experience for the players, emphasizing technical footwork, agility, and ball control in an indoor setting. Coaches and volunteers worked closely with participants, ensuring they not only refined their soccer skills but also built confidence and teamwork.
A Moment of Recognition at the "For Women, Forever" Signature Event
In addition to the excitement of launching our indoor training, the Akron Inner City Soccer Club was also honored to be featured at the "For Women, Forever" signature event, hosted by the Women’s Endowment Fund of the Akron Community Foundation. This annual event brings together community leaders and nonprofit organizations that are making a difference, and we were proud to be recognized alongside other impactful nonprofits in Akron.
The event highlighted our mission and dedication to empowering young athletes in the community through sports. Our inclusion in the video showcased how soccer is not just a game but a tool for mentorship, growth, and positive community engagement.
Looking Ahead
As we move forward in 2025, the Akron Inner City Soccer Club remains committed to expanding opportunities for young athletes, fostering community partnerships, and continuing to provide a safe and inclusive space for youth to develop their skills on and off the field.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Women’s Endowment Fund of the Akron Community Foundation, our dedicated coaches, volunteers, and the entire Akron community for supporting our journey.
